In many cases, epilepsy begins in childhood. The Epilepsy League has produced a new information flyer for parents and family members.

For parents, a diagnosis of epilepsy is always a shock, and there are lots of questions: What are the chances of my child becoming seizure free? What methods of diagnosis are advised? Will my son/daughter have to take medication for the rest of their life and are there any other treatment methods? Are they likely to have developmental difficulties?

The new flyer from the Swiss Epilepsy League contains in-depth information for parents to read and to help prepare them for their next appointment with the doctor. It can be downloaded or ordered in German, French, Italian and English; the Epilepsy League is pleased to send small numbers of flyers free of charge within Switzerland.
